UN envoy: Humanitarian condition in Gaza very serious

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The, UN humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinian territories, Max Gaylard, said on Sunday that humanitarian condition in Gaza Strip was very serious and continuously deteriorating.
In a press conference he held in the UN headquarter in occupied Jerusalem, Gaylard described the condition in the tiny Strip as "gloomy", adding that reports from the health ministry confirm that more than 900 Palestinians were killed and around 4000 others were injured, many of them in serious conditions.
Based on figures form the health ministry in Gaza, Gaylard asserted that nearly one-half of the Palestinian victims were children and women, underlining that such facts were "extremely disturbing", but, he added, "we can't do anything at the moment due to the difficult security condition in the Strip".
Moreover, Gaylard pointed out that around 26000 Palestinian individuals displaced by the IOF troops from their homes in northern Gaza Strip had flocked into UNRWA-run schools believing they were safer.
He also revealed that the UN had informed the Israeli occupation army on the whereabouts of those schools and the civilians staying in them with the aim to spare them attack.
He also urged the Israeli occupation troops not to target ambulance vehicles and paramedics who are trying to reach affected Palestinians civilians falling in the war on Gaza.
Around 30 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, were killed and close to 100 others were seriously wounded when Israeli warplanes deliberately bombed an UNRWA-run school in Jabalya city, north of Gaza Strip, a couple of days ago.

Blast kills Gaza teacher in front of her children



The UN is demanding an investigation into how the Israeli military killed one of its Palestinian school teachers by blasting open the front door of her Gaza home with explosives in the presence of three of her children.
Wafer Shaker al Daghma, 34, a teacher at a local UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) elementary school, was killed last Wednesday as she stood preparing to open the wooden door of her home to the troops. According to UNRWA and relatives who found her body, the military used an explosive device on the door which blew most of her head from her body. They then confined the traumatised children – aged from two to 13 – for five hours while the body lay outside the door of the room where they were held.
Although the soldiers finally left the house – in darkness because of a blackout – at around 9pm, Mrs al Daghma's 13-year-old daughter Samira was too terrified to go outside for help for another two hours because of the continued presence of Israeli armoured vehicles outside her home.
Tiles above a washbasin opposite the front door of the house were still heavily spattered with dried blood yesterday. There was a pile of splintered wooden planks from the destroyed door on the floor where Mrs al Daghma's body, which soldiers apparently covered with a rug, had lain as the military incursion continued.
Chris Gunness, spokesman for UNRWA, said that the Israeli forces were using the house as a post to monitor "alleged militants". "The children heard many gun shots but do not know where they came from," he said. He said UNRWA had asked Israel in writing for "an impartial investigation, for accountability and allowing the facts to speak for themselves," adding: "We again condemn the killing of innocent civilians."
Mrs al Daghma's widower, Majdi, 34, who was out of the house at the time, said his daughter had told him that her mother, knowing that troops were on a search and arrest operation in the vicinity, had put on a headscarf, told the children to go into a bedroom and said that she would open the door when the troops arrived.
An Israeli tank had parked by the outer, open, ****l door and the inner, wooden front door was then blasted open.
"Samira heard a very loud explosion and there was a lot of smoke. She looked for her mother but couldn't see her," he said.
Samira al Daghma said yesterday that after entering the house the soldiers had kept her, her sister Roba, four, and brother Qusay, two, in the room. "They did not let us out. There was one soldier at the door of the room. I asked him: 'Where is my mother?' He was speaking in Hebrew and I didn't understand him."
She said that when the soldiers finally left, she crawled with her siblings to a room on the eastern side of the house. "There were still tanks outside our house and if I had gone out they would have seen me. I tried to call my father on my mother's Jawwal [cellphone] but there was no line. I lifted the carpet and saw a bit of my mother's clothes. She was not moving. I did not see her head."
Mr al Daghma said the family were Fatah rather than Hamas supporters. The funeral was arranged by Fatah and there were Arafat portraits in the house yesterday. The Israeli military said it was looking into the incident.
The Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert yesterday promised "strong action" to stop Gaza militants if they continued their attacks after a 48-year-old Israeli father-of-four was killed by a Hamas-claimed mortar on Friday. Oxfam urged Israel to avert a health crisis as Gaza's power station shut down, saying it had run out of fuel.

The child martyr Iman Al-Hams and Zionist terrorism

Iman Al-Hams, was a 13 year old Palestinian child. She was too young to predict how far Zionist terrorism could reach. Iman took some money and headed toward the neighborhood's grocery where she lived in Rafah city. A few hundred meters away, the Zionist terrorist “Gevati” unit took position. The bloodthirsty soldiers of the unit were waiting to detect and shoot any Palestinian who would come into their sight whether that Palestinian happened to be on the roof of his house, inside his room or a passerby or even a child who got bored of being confined to his or her house and “took the risk” of going out to play with his or her peers.
A few steps away from her house, the occupation soldiers sprayed her with the bullets of their machineguns as if they were against a military battalion or a commando unit and not an innocent little girl.
Iman was killed on October 15, 2004 in Rafah in such a way that makes it hard to believe the killers belong to mankind. After little Iman was shot and fell on the ground, the commander of the military post, surrounded by his soldiers, approached her and sprayed her with 20 more bullets making sure that she’s dead.
The Zionist officer who killed Iman in cold blood confirmed that he was not sorry for what he did. In a lengthy interview with the Zionist “Ma'ariv” newspaper, the officer stated that he did not violate instructions when he killed Iman. He added that if Iman came to life again and if she was only 3 years old he would have killed her again.
Nevertheless, the Zionist officer whose name was not disclosed said that he was a victim of the conspiracy of his colleagues who testified against him for racial reasons pointing out that he is Durzi while his colleagues are Jewish.
The Zionist judicial view on killing a Palestinian child:
A Zionist court acquitted the officer although he was accused of killing the child Iman. The bill of indictment stated that the soldiers at the military position noticed a “suspicious person” about 100 meters away and immediately shot at him. It turned out that the “suspicious person” was none other than the child Iman . The commander of the position approached the child, pointed his M-16 at the body of the child at a very close range and emptied the full load of his gun’s magazine into Iman’s body.
Testimonies:
A soldier who witnessed the crime, told the Hebrew “Yediot Ahronot” that the killing of Iman was like executing a person without trial. He confirmed that the soldiers shot at her from different positions and that the commander shot the child a number of times from his automatic machine gun until he was sure she was dead.
Three other soldiers testified to the same story confirming that the child was murdered in cold blood. Nevertheless, the Zionist judiciary acquitted the criminal officer and allowed him to return to the military as commander of a detachment.
The Zionist judiciary and the “others”:
The carelessness in which the Zionist judiciary deals with homicide cases committed by Israeli soldiers or settlers against Palestinian children, women and men and even against foreigners in the Palestinian territories is only compatible with the state terrorism practiced by the Zionist authorities against the unarmed Palestinian people in the occupied territories.
Among the examples illustrating the carelessness of the Zionist judiciary towards the crimes committed against “others” is the decision in April 2005 of the Zionist military judge who acquitted the Israeli soldiers who killed the British reporter James Miller due to what the judge described as lack of evidence.
Another example is the acquittal of the Israeli soldier who was accused of killing the American activist Rachel Cory who was crushed to death by an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah in 2003.

Thirty-One Gaza Children Killed in Israeli Offensive in Thirty-One Days

As Israel 's siege on the Gaza Strip passes the one month milestone, Defence for Children International – Palestine Section (DCI/PS) would like to draw attention to the 31 Palestinian children whose deaths expose anew the degradation of the principles of international humanitarian law. The death of these children implicates both the parties to the conflict as well as those States not directly involved, but who, as third parties, are legally bound to enforce these principles.
Recalling that the Gaza Strip has been under belligerent occupation by Israel since 1967, and that it remains under occupation despite the 12 September 2005 ‘disengagement' of Israeli troops, the attacks by both the Israeli army and Palestinian armed groups in the past month have been characterized by their lack of respect for the customary international law principle of distinction. This principle requires combatants at all times to distinguish between civilians and civilian objects, and military objectives. The Israeli tactics in Gaza have also been condemned as disproportionate by the EU and the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator in that the incidental loss of Palestinian lives, injury of Palestinians and damage to Palestinian civilian infrastructure has been excessive in relation to the military advantage understood to be gained by Israel . Israeli air, sea and ground troops have opened fire in civilian areas in the dense population centers of Gaza cities and refugee camps, including near hospitals, schools, and in crowded residential housing complexes on numerous occasions.

DCI/PS recalls that one of the predominant reasons for restrictions enshrined in the ius in bello (the law governing the conduct of warfare, or international humanitarian law) is to regulate combatant behavior such that acts will not be taken which are so grave as to prevent the return to peace. At a time when international political actors are calling for a return to the logic of ‘durable solutions' to stop the current escalation in violence, DCI/PS asserts that nations at war remember no injuries as acutely as they remember the death of their children. Thus, DCI/PS believes that any effective solutions to the current crisis and the crisis of the future must include a reiterated commitment to the principles of international humanitarian law, and particularly those principles relating to the protection of the civilian population and civilian infrastructure.

“Abu Me’tiq Family”: The massacre of Palestinian Families

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Israeli Occupation Forces attacked Beit Hanoun on the morning of April 28, 2008, and committed a heinous massacre that claimed the lives of a mother and four of her kids. Thus, the Occupation has added another innocent Palestinian family to its endless list of massacres.
My Family’s Death!
“They have wiped out my family” said Ahmed Abu Me’tiq, the father of the massacred children. He was in shock and he just couldn’t believe the catastrophe that befell him and his family, especially that he had lost a 5th child two years back.
During the funeral of his family, Ahmed Abu Me’tiq was very emotional as his wife and children were about to be buried and repeated prayers Muslims repeat on such an occasion.
His wife and kids were having breakfast together when an Israeli bomb fell on his home killing the whole family.
How did it happen?
According to an investigation carried out by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), an Israeli Army aircraft, which was supporting ground troops during an incursion into Bait Hanoun, fired a missile at 8:15 am at a group of resistance fighters, who were near the Abdulla Azzam Mosque, about 1000 meters from the direct area of the IOF incursion. The missile landed approximately 10 meters from the house of Ahmed Abu Me’tiq and caused a very serious injury to one of the resistance men.
In less than a minute, the same area was targeted again with two new missiles that landed directly at the door of Ahmed Abu Me’tiq home, which also caused the death of, Ibrahim Salem Suleiman Hajaj (20 years old), a resistance fighter affiliated with the Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.
Shrapnel the two missiles destroyed the door of the house and spread inside, where Meyasar Me’tiq Abu Me’tiq (40 years old) and her six children were having breakfast only 2 meters away from the door. This caused an instant death to four of her children: Mes’id (1 year), Hana (3 years), Saleh (5 years) and Rudeina (4 years).
The other two children were moderately wounded while the mother was seriously wounded, which caused her death shortly afterwards. At least eight other residents in the area were also injured.
Horrific Scenes

Despite the danger, the neighbors rushed to the scene to try and rescue the wounded and move the dead. The casualties were transported to hospital using donkey-drawn carts because of the lack of fuel in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli blocakade.
Journalist arrived later at the scene of the massacre and spoke to neighbors who felt despair for a family that was murdered without even a warning.
The scene of massacre and the blood-covered food spoke the story more eloquently than any words can describe and more vivid than a canvas by a master artist. The canvas summed it all up, it is the story of a people who from time immemorial lived on their land and loved it faced with the monsters who came from far away and not only tried to steal their dream but turned it into a nightmare.
“Mes'id”, was named after his brother, martyred while resisting occupation
Before losing his four children, Ahmed Abu Me’tiq had lost his eldest son, Mes'id (25 years old) while resisting the occupation forces during one of their frequent incursions into Beit Hanoun in November 2006. The invading troops killed 110 Palestinians; 50 of them were from Beit Hanoun.
A family member said that the martyr Meyasar Abu Me’tiq, who was Ahmed’s second wife, had promised to name her unborn child “Mes'id” after her husband's eldest son. She wanted her unborn son to be as courageous as his eldest brother who died defending his country.
When the child was born, Meyasar was very happy and insisted to name him Mes'id. She was hoping to compensate her husband for his loss, not knowing the fait that was awaiting her and her little children at the hands of the murderous Zionist occupation.

The Murder of the family of Ahmed Abu Me’tiq by the Israeli Occupation, has added another crime to their Black Record of targeting Palestinian families. Here are a few cases of Palestinian families who have been annihilated by the Zionist terrorists:
Atta Allah Family: Six Martyrs
The archives of the Aqsa Intifada holds many cases of Palestinian families targeted by Zionist terrorists. Last March, an Israeli military aircraft fired three missiles in the direction of the home of Abdulrahman Mohammed Ali Atta Allah (62 years), near Al Bukhari Mosque in Gaza.
The attack destroyed the house and killed six family members, three of whom were women. It also injured six family members and two of his brother’s family members, including four children, where one of them was only 2 days old.

Ghalia Family: Seven Martyrs
Before that, the family of the child Huda Ghalia was targeted by missiles from a Zionist boats on 9 June 2006 while they were on the Gaza Beach in Al-Sudania. This caused the death of seven members of the family, including the parents and the injury of the rest of the members with serious wounds.
Abu Salmiya Family: Nine Martyrs
The massacre of Dr. Nabil Abu Salmiya’s family on 12 July 2006 took place when the Israeli F-16 fighter aircraft dropped a one-ton bomb on their house in Gaza, which killed the parents and seven of their children.
Matar Family: Seven Martyrs
During the assassination of the Martyr Salah Shehada, the Matar family lost seven family members when a missile landed on the apartment block where Salah Shahada lived. This was one of the biggest crimes, where approximately 19 people died and many injured, including the targeted leader in 2002.
The horrific deaths of Palestinian families is part of the terrorist acts committed by the Israeli Occupation on the Palestinian people, who will “not forgive or forget” what has happened to them.

As the evil state of Israel is celebrating sixty years of ethnic cleansing and atrocities against the native Palestinians, many people around the world, especially young generations, will not be fully aware of the manner in which Israel came into existence. Similarly, the younger Zionist generations who don’t stop calling their Palestinian victims “terrorists” should have a clearer idea about Israel’s manifestly criminal past which Zionist school textbooks shamelessly glamorize and glorify
Prior to "Jewish" statehood, three main Jewish terror organizations operated in Palestine, primarily against Palestinian civilians and British mandate targets. The three were: The Haganah, the Zvei Leumi or Irgun and the Stern Gang. The Haganah (Defence) had a field army of up to 160,000 well-trained and well-armed men and a unit called the Palmach, with more than 6,000 terrorists. The Irgun included as many as 5,000 terrorists, while the Stern Gang included 200-300 dangerous terrorists.
The following are merely some examples of Zionist terrorism prior to the creation of the Zionist state in 1948: The list doesn't include the bigger massacres such as Dir Yasin, Dawaymeh, Tantura and others.
1937-1939
During this period, Zionist terrorists carried out a series of terror attacks against Palestinian buses resulting in the death of 24 persons and the wounding of 25 others.

Haganah blew up the Iraqi oil pipeline near Haifa/Palestine. Moshe Dayan was one of the participants in this act. The technique was used in 1947 at least four times.

On 6 November, 1940 , Zionist terrorists of the Stern Gang assassinated the British Minister resident in the Middle East , Lord Moyne, in Cairo .

On 25 November, S.S. Patria was blown up by Jewish terrorists in Haifa harbour, killing 268 illegal Jewish immigrants. The explosion, carried out by the Haganah terrorist group, was only meant to prevent the ship from sailing. However, it seemed that the terrorists had miscalculated the amount of explosives needed to disable the vessel. Other sources reported that this was no miscalculation and was a deliberate mass murder of Jews by Jews aimed at drawing sympathy and influencing British immigration policy to Palestine .

Zionist terrorists blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, which housed the civilian administration of the government of Palestine, killing and injuring more than 200 persons. The Irgun gang claimed responsibility for this criminal act, but subsequent evidence indicated that both the Haganah and the Jewish Agency were involved.

On 1 October, the British Embassy in Rome was badly damaged by a bomb explosion for which Irgun claimed responsibility.

In June 1947, a postal bomb addressed to the British war office exploded in the post office sorting room in London, injuring 2 persons. It was attributed to Irgun or Stern Gangs (The Sunday Times, Sept. 24, 1972), p. 8.

In December 1947, six Palestinians were killed and 30 wounded when bombs were thrown from Jewish trucks at Arab houses in Haifa; 12 Palestinians were killed and another injured in an attack by armed Zionists at an Arab coastal village near Haifa.

On 13 December 1947 , Zionist terrorists believed to be members of Irgun Zevi Leumi murdered 18 Palestinian civilians and wounded 60 others in Jerusalem , Jaffa and Lud areas. In Jerusalem , bombs were thrown in an Arab market-place near the Damascus Gate; in Jaffa bombs were thrown into an Arab café; and in the Arab village near Lud, 12 Arabs were killed in an attack with mortars and automatic weapons.

On 9 December, Haganah terrorists attacked an Arab village near Safad, blowing up two houses, in the ruins of which were found the bodies of 10 Arabs, including 5 children. Haganah admitted responsibility for the attack.

On 29 December, two British constables and 11 Palestinians were killed and 32 others were injured at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem when Irgun terrorists threw a bomb from a taxi.

On 1 January, Haganah terrorists attacked a village on the slope of Mount Carmel , killing 17 Palestinian civilians and wounding 33 others.

On 4 January, Haganah terrorists wearing British Army uniforms penetrated into the centre of Jaffa and blew up the Sarai, which was used as headquarters of the Arab National Committee, killing more than 40 persons and wounding 98 others.

On 5 January, the Arab-owned Semiramis Hotel in Jerusalem was blown up, killing 20 civilians, among them Viscount De Tapia, the Spanish Consul. Haganah admitted responsibility for this outrage.

On 7 January , seventeen Arab civilians were killed by a bomb at the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem , 3 of them while trying to escape. Further casualties, including the murder of a British officer near Hebron, were reported from different parts of the country.

On 16 January, Jewish terrorists blew up three Arab buildings, killing 8 children between the age of 18 months and 12 years.
December 13, 1947- February 10, 1948
Seven bombing attacks by Jewish terrorists took place and the targets were innocent Arab civilians in cafés and markets, killing 138 and wounding 271 others. During this period, there were 9 attacks on Arab buses. Moreover, Jewish terrorists attacked passenger trains on at least four occasions, killing 93 persons and wounding 161 others.

On 15 February , Haganah terrorists attacked an Arab village near Safad and blew up several houses, killing 11 civilians, including four children.

On 3 March, heavy damage was done to the Arab-owned Salam building in Haifa (a seven-story block of flats and shops) by Jewish terrorists who drove an army truck to the building and escaped before detonation of 400 pounds of explosives, killing 11 Arab civilians and 3 Americans. The Stern Gang claimed responsibility.

On 22 March, Jewish terrorists from the Stern Gang blew up a housing block in Iraq Street in Haifa , killing 17 and injuring 100 others. Four members of the Stern Gang drove two truckloads of explosives into the street and abandoned the vehicles before the explosives went off.

On 31 March, Jewish terrorists mined the Cairo-Haifa Express, killing 40 people and wounding 60 others.

On 16 April, Jewish terrorists attacked the former British army camp at Tel Litvvinsky, killing 90 Palestinians.

On 19 April, fourteen Palestinian civilians were killed in a house in Tiberias, which was blown up by Zionist terrorists.

On 11 May, a letter bomb addressed to Evelyn Baker, former commanding officer in Palestine , was detected in the nick of time by his wife.
April 25, 1948- May 13, 1948
Wholesale looting of Jaffa was carried out following armed attacks by Irgun and Haganah terrorists. They plundered and carried away everything they could, destroying what they could not take with them.

On 17 September, Count Folke Berndadotte, UN Mediator in Palestine was assassinated by members of the Stern Gang in the Zionist-controlled sector of Jerusalem . Bernadotte’s aide Col. Serot was also killed and murdered by Jewish terrorists.

In November, the Christian Arab villages of Igrit and Birim were attacked and destroyed, killing and injuring many unarmed civilians, including women and children. All the Christian Arab inhabitants were forcibly expelled from their homes. The State of Israel still refuses to allow them to return to their villages despite several court orders.

Since then the refugees have consistently been denied the right to return home. After the expulsion, the Zionist terrorist army razed to the ground hundreds of Arab towns, villages and hamlets and obliterated their remains. Eventually, Israeli villages, Kibbutzim and towns were built on the remaining rubble
